Intertrigo is a type of inflammation of the skin, a type of eczema. The skin may be red or red-brown and it may be moist, have coatings, flaking or small cracks/sores in the skin. It can cause itching or discomfort.
Intertrigo comes in skin folds, so that heat and humidity/sweat play a role. One imagines that the skin becomes irritated and this creates an inflammation, and eczema appears in the skin.
