Warts are from a few millimeters to several centimeters in size. They are most often skin colored and round, but there may be small spot bleeding on the surface. There is then a slightly brown-red color to be seen. On the hands it is typically like small nodules in the skin, while on the pressure points of the feet they are more in the surface of the skin. Warts on the soles of the feet and between the toes can be painful. Warts can be confused with corns.
It comes from an infection with a virus (HPV) and is contagious. You can also infect yourself.
All types of treatment that make them thinner, i.e. different treatment can have an effect. This can be done, for example, with a foot bath and then careful scraping of the warts. After this, you can brush on a wart remedy that can be bought without a prescription at the pharmacy. Self-treatment with freezing (available from pharmacies) is also possible, but more effective is freezing by a dermatologist. Freezing warts can be painful and many doctors are wary of doing this in children under 10. Some doctors also have caustics to brush on the warts. Treating warts can take time and requires patience.
