On the lower lip, there is a red-blue skin change which may be slightly raised.
It is soft.
Size is typically up to 1 cm.
It is often possible to push away some of the color with a small glass plate.
Other typical places it appears are the ear lobe, face and neck, but it can appear anywhere.
This is an expansion of a venous blood vessel, i.e. the type of blood vessel that carries blood to the heart.
The color of the blood is therefore red-blue.
The cause is unknown.
It can be frozen or burned away by a doctor.
If there is any doubt as to what it is, the doctor can cut it out or take a tissue sample before final treatment is decided.
